Top Shaolin Monk Approves New Center in Saint Louis
(Saint Louis, MO.)—— For the first time in St. Louis, over 1500 years of History, Culture, Philosophy, and Arts is being brought to the area directly from China's Shaolin Temple, famed for its Kung-Fu Monks.
Ven. Shi Deyang, 31st Generation Shaolin Temple Monk, is globally considered one of the greatest present exponents of Traditional Shaolin Culture. He has held some of the most prominent roles in the temple, including Head Coach of the Shaolin Warrior Monks, transcriber of the ancient texts, and keeper of the Shaolin Library. He has also appeared in numerous documentaries on Shaolin and in dozens of martial arts magazines around the world over the past two decades.

Ven. Shi Deyang has now given his approval and support for the establishment of a Traditional Shaolin Cultural Arts Center in St. Louis (Bel-nor). Shaolin Chan City (SCC) is the only center under his direction in the United States and second internationally. The center's vision and aim is to provide an authentic Shaolin Culture experience to enrich the lives of the people of St. Louis, surrounding areas, and the United States. This is to be achieved through providing study programs for self-defense, health, wellness, meditation and Chan (zen) philosophy, hosting regular seminars led by Shaolin Monks and Disciples directly from China (most of which are completely free), as well as hosting charity events in its vision.
SCC Founder & Instructor
Shaolin Master Le Fujun, is a direct student of Ven. Shi Deyang, having studied under his guidance as a member of the Shaolin Monastery Warrior Monks Reserve Team in China. He is a Shaolin practitioner, instructor, historian, and author who has conducted years of extensive research in conjunction with his personal study and practice of Traditional Shaolin Culture.
