Traditional Shaolin Qigong Program
Traditional Shaolin Neigong (internal skills 内功) includes the various forms of Qigong (气功) and full-moving soft boxing sets. This part of the Shaolin Chan City program is well suited to students of older age, but is an important aspect of training at any age.
Students attending this program first begin with stationary Qigong sets including;
Eight-section Brocade (Chin.: Bāduànjǐn 八段锦),
Muscle/Tendon-transformation Sutra (Chin.: Yìjīnjīng 易筋经), etc..
Full-moving boxing sets are learned after the stationary Qigong sets. They include;
Soft Boxing (Chin.: Róuquán 柔拳),
Vajra Boxing (Chin.: Jīngāngquán 金刚拳),
Cotton Boxing (Chin.: Miánquán 棉拳), etc..
These Neigong sets are good not only for health-preservation but also for self-defense. The Shaolin Chan City Neigong Program teaches in great detail about the health benefits derived from each set and each individual movement, and also reveals the hidden powerful self-defense value of these soft arts, giving students a complete understanding of Traditional Shaolin Qigong.
